The company is the world’s leading provider of products for peritoneal dialysis (PD), a home-based, cost effective, self-administered treatment for kidney disease. Baxter’s Homecare division supports patients by delivering PD products direct to their homes and providing Clinical Nurse educators to visit patients for home training.
Baxter also provides products for haemodialysis (HD), a procedure that takes place at a hospital or clinic and increasingly also delivered in the home. In Australia Baxter owns and operates five dialysis centres in VIC, QLD, WA and SA known as Baxter Therapy Services.
Baxter invests heavily in providing education and medical support to both patients and nephrology clinicians.
