In 2006 ‘Making a Meaningful Difference’ program was launched to encourage all employees to undertake 3.5 hours of voluntary activities each year during working hours.
Baxter assists medical professionals from around Australia and New Zealand to attend educational conferences and seminars in the areas of renal health, haematology, parenteral nutrition, anaesthesia, intravenous therapy as well as surgery and trauma care.
Funds are donated for a scholarship allowing a member of the health industry to complete the Certificate of Public Health Policy at Sydney University.
Financial assistance is given to non-profit organisations with the objective of creating further funds to meet often infinite needs. Three of the major non-profit organisations that Baxter has supported for many years are Parramatta Mission, Northcott Society and the Millennium Foundation.
The Australian Council of Healthcare Standards’ Annual Report and Quality Improvement Awards have been proudly supported by Baxter since 1987.
Baxter sponsors annual Quality Awards run by the Australian Hospital & Healthcare Council, the Australian Private Hospital Association and the SAN Hospital.
The NSW Young Achiever Award is the recipient of an annual donation to cover the prize awarded to a young innovator in the category of manufacturing and best product.
Kidney Health Australia, Renal Society of Australiasia, Transplant Australia have been supported by Baxter through a diverse range of programs.
Cancer Nurses Society, Cancer Council of NSW, Cancer Surgery Research Foundation and Canteen have all been recipients of Baxter’s financial support.
Haemophilia Society of Australia and New Zealand as well as the Haemophilia Foundation of Australia have long been supported to undertake their important work.
Baxter has helped Constable Care, Catholic Health Australia, Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, numerous hospitals, Mission Australia, Ronald McDonald House Charity, and many, many more organisations to reach their vital and worthwhile objectives.
