The clinical specialist team perform a clinical advisory role to current and potential customers in relation to Baxter Healthcare products. This demonstrates Baxter’s commitment to best-practice clinical services and the promotion of healthcare safety.
Working along side Product Specialist this team provide clinical consultation, support and education. For example during product trials and the implementation of products following purchase the clinical team provide demonstrations of correct use and optimal techniques to support the nursing staff and clinicians. They then provide back up support with clinical education and on-going training according to acknowledged best practice. They also respond to customer’s requests.
Other aspects of this role include conducting product reviews in order to assess a clinical areas inventory efficiency. Product lines can be rationalised and solutions can be found to assist the area to function more effectively.
The clinical team works across several different specialties including:
- EIS (electronic infusion systems), which includes the training and consultation required for use of intravenous infusion pumps, giving sets and accessories;
-the nutrition portfolio where training and consultation is provided for those administrating Baxter Healthcares TPN (total parenteral nutrition) products;
-IV/Pharma is where the team offers training and consultation to those administering Baxter Healthcares compounding service products;
-the Anaesthetic portfolio where Baxter Healthcare’s anaesthetic products are also supported by the clinical team.
